In
The Beginning
|
| Three
years ago I was the classic “depressed, overweight mom", plagued
with headaches, lack of energy and no motivation to do anything about
it. I
was sick of going to my closet only to find all of my clothes were
too tight and looked terrible on me.
I looked in the mirror and saw a stranger.
Then
one day I asked, “How did I let myself get into this
mess?"
And more importantly, "Do I want to stay here?”

Setting
A Goal
|
|
I
took a good hard look in that mirror and decided to set a few simple goals.
A lower weight. A
date. Something
to inspire and motivate me into an exercise routine.
I found a picture of someone that was a realistic goal, and said,
“ I want to look like her!”

 |
Push
I
began to push through my daily headache and exercise
anyway.
I just pushed through it.
I started jogging for 10 minutes.
That is all I could handle.
I added one minute each day.
I eventually worked up to 30 minutes on the treadmill.
I was thrilled that my perseverance had paid off!
Much to my surprise, my headaches, not to mention my sluggishness
was vanishing.

A New Craving
|
|
I
realized my body actually began to crave exercise.
I noticed that when I would feel tired and sleepy, if I would
exercise for 30 minutes instead of nap, I felt so much better.
|
|
I
also experimented with water, one of my Three
W's. I discovered that after I began to force
myself to drink water that I began to crave that as well!
I slowly began to wean myself off of soft drinks.
I went from a coke junkie to just water throughout the day.
|
|
I
discovered that many times when I would feel hungry, if
I gulped 10 to 20 oz. of water the hunger pains vanished.
It was much later that I read that most Americans are chronically
dehydrated (I know I was) and that the body has the same mechanism for
thirst as hunger. A growling
stomach!

Results
|
|
As
I started seeing results, I was encouraged to continually challenge myself
each day for a few more minutes.
I began
to train with weights.
Then I really began to see my body change!
I was not just getting smaller.
I was reshaping my body.
It was so neat to realize that I had a strong healthy
body
underneath all that fat!
The
purpose of this website is to encourage you.
Please persevere!
If I can do it, you can too!
God
bless you in your endeavor!
