Nutrition?!...

My husband and I have
been leading thousands of people into lives of better physical and financial
health for 6 years. We started coaching and training a new group of just
over 100 people in December of 2007. This group, that we coach on a weekly
basis, turned into a thousand people within 90 days.
In a recent gathering of a hundred of them I did a survey. We asked each
one as they came in the door how much weight they had lost over the last 8
weeks. The total answer was 1,142 lbs! How?
Nutrition.
Nutrition was always
something I couldn’t quite get a handle on. So I just decided my best chance at good health was through
exercise. Then
I began to learn about nutrition.

Ah-Ha!
Exercise is good. But
for those of you that hate to exercise, you'll be glad to know it will only get
you part of the way. In fact a good brisk walk every single day will get
you just as far as the person who hits the gym everyday. They may get
there faster, BUT if you focus more than they do on nutrition, they will
plateau in their efforts while you will reach your peak physical
condition. I hope you see that as good news!
Here's more good news!
Putting proper nutrition in your body doesn't mean eating just salads, or
bad-tasting shakes and bars, or going on some kind of diet - packaged or
otherwise. In fact, I truly believe most diets are very unhealthy.
Why? Because there is no nutrition in the foods we eat... because there
are no nutrients in the soil.

Supplements Vs Nutrition! |

The challenge with the
people that are tearing it up in the gym everyday is that they are focused more
on supplements than actual nutrition. Their primary source of nutrition
comes from food purchased at the grocery store. There's too little
nutrition there.
What
I have found is this: Focus on nutrition and water first... then minimal
exercise will get you in pretty good, healthy shape. No one needs to be
told the body is a perfect machine. But it never hurts to remind ourselves
of it! You MUST have good nutrition in your body so that your body will
have something to work with. You MUST have water in your body so it can
carry the good nutrition in and the waste out. And nothing but water
counts - just about every other liquid depletes you to the point that you only
end up needing additional water to make up the difference! Then you MUST
have exercise... but again, I could just as easily say
"movement". Simple, continuous and sometime vigorous movement is
all your body is really looking for!
So
how do I maintain 120-125 lbs of mostly muscle? I follow the "80/20
Rule"... only in a different way; 80% of the time I am
putting nutrition in my body from a few particular companies that have proven to
provide overall food-based nutrition at a level much higher than ANY food you
can put in your body from a grocery store of through pre-packaged diets. 20%
of the time I eat whatever I want! I enjoy ALL the bad stuff!
The interesting thing is that once you are putting 80% good nutrition in your
body, you'll realize that after you eat all the mouth-watering foods that you think
you like, you are actually only pleasing your tongue. (...and you don't
need to read very far in the Bible to understand what a little beast the tongue
can be!) So, eat what you want to 20% of the time. If you follow the
other rules, your body will be in such good working order that the bad stuff
can't really hurt you! PLUS, after one of those 20% meals where you gorge
yourself, if you'll just pop a couple of good enzymes right after you eat it
will help tremendously!
